Mayo Kite Fest has always been about bringing people together for an unforgettable weekend of kites, music, workshops, great food, and mighty craic.

Every year, (this year included) we’ve rely on the incredible support of our sponsors and partners, we’re so grateful for everything they do. Thank you everyone!

This year, despite all our efforts to secure public and private funding, and even part self-fund the event, it’s simply not enough to cover costs. We had a hard choice: pull the event and let down all the Mayo families that visit Mayo Kite Festival each year, bringing 1,000’s to Achill Island for the spectacular kite-filled skies and fun-filled event, or charge a an entrance fee to the public. 

At the end of the day, we’re just a small local Lodge  that loves putting this event on, and we want to make sure we can continue to do it the right way for years to come.

This year, Mayo Kite Fest will run over two days, with a weekend ticket of €5 per person (adult or child) with kids under 3 years of age free entry, giving you access to the whole festival.

Think of it as everyone chipping in a little to help keep this amazing event alive and growing.
